Confirm the packaging structure before preparing the final artwork. For the full workflow from formula and samples to packaging approval, production and testing, see our Private Label Herbal Tea OEM Process.
The confirmed structure determines the dimensions and dieline. The packaging supplier then provides the technical print requirements. The artwork is checked against those requirements before the supplier completes its final prepress review.
Packaging is confirmed as part of each private label herbal tea project before final production files are released.
Confirm product and order direction.
Confirm packaging structure.
Confirm pack specification and dimensions.
Update the commercial proposal where the structure changes cost or minimum quantities.
Issue the current dieline and Artwork Requirement Sheet.
Buyer or designer prepares the artwork.
Aile Herb performs the agreed project pre-check.
Packaging supplier performs its prepress review.
Packaging sample is reviewed where required.
Version-specific written approval is obtained before production.
The first four steps define what is being made before the designer prepares the final production file.
The next four steps control the files: the current dieline and supplier requirements are issued first, then the artwork is prepared and reviewed.
Where a packaging sample is required, it is reviewed before the final written approval that releases the packaging configuration for production.
Technical print requirements must come from the supplier producing the selected packaging component.
These requirements can include:
Exact print settings vary by packaging supplier, material, printing method and equipment.

A carton and an individual overwrap can also be produced by different suppliers. Each component should therefore use the requirement sheet issued for the supplier that will actually produce it. Aile Herb does not combine print parameters from different suppliers or replace supplier-specific requirements with generic internet guidelines. The relevant Artwork Requirement Sheet is issued after the packaging structure and producing supplier are confirmed.
Every issued dieline should carry a version identifier, date and finished size.
A structural or dimensional change requires a new dieline version. The previous version is treated as superseded, and the new version must be reviewed and approved before it replaces the earlier configuration. Written approval should reference the version being approved. Before production, the active dieline version, artwork version and approval record should correspond to the same packaging configuration. Packaging samples can also be reviewed before final production approval where required.
This reduces ambiguity when several rounds of artwork or structural changes have been exchanged during the project.
Artwork files pass through two different checks before print production.
Responsibility: Aile Herb’s project pre-check does not replace the packaging supplier’s prepress review. The two checks cover different parts of the print-production process.
Produced to the confirmed project structure and dimensions.
Structure, dimensions and supplier requirements are confirmed before the production dieline is issued.
Currently confirmed in metallised-film and kraft-paper configurations.
Excess approved printed material can be retained for a later reorder under the current confirmed storage arrangement.
A separate Aile Herb product line with its own packaging structure and components.
Applicable packaging requirements are confirmed before quotation and artwork release.
Where printed individual overwrap is used, bags per box determines how many sachets are consumed in the first finished run and how much approved packaging may remain for a reorder.
View MOQ & Order Planning →Printed individual overwrap adds a separate packaging component, supplier requirement and print minimum.
If individual overwrap is not required for the chosen configuration, this packaging requirement does not apply.
A change in structure can change dimensions, dieline, tooling, minimum quantities and price.
The structure should therefore be confirmed before final artwork begins. If it changes later, the affected files and commercial items need to be reviewed again.
| Stage | Packaging change handling |
|---|---|
| Before the dieline is issued | Structure and dimensions can be reviewed before the production file is created. |
| After the dieline, before production | A structural or dimensional change requires a new dieline version and renewed written approval; affected cost and quantities are re-confirmed. |
| After production starts | The approved packaging configuration is fixed for that run; a further material change requires a new production assessment. |
Later changes can require new files, renewed approval, revised cost or revised schedule. The purpose of the sequence is to make the major structure decisions before artwork and production are committed.

The review determines the structure, applicable packaging supplier requirements and approval steps needed before print production.
If your project also has specific quality and testing requirements, confirm them before production.
