Understand what should be confirmed before a private-label herbal tea project moves into production. Samples help confirm the formula, packaging and product direction, but final production approval is a separate step.
A private-label tea project moves into production only after the key product, packaging, testing and commercial details are confirmed.
The approved blend, ingredients and weights.
The selected structure, dimensions and materials.
The approved print files matched to the current dieline version.
The confirmed quantity, pricing items and lead-time basis.
The production schedule based on the confirmed items.
These confirmations are connected. Testing scope depends on the formula. Artwork depends on the confirmed packaging structure and dieline. If the packaging changes, quantity, cost, timing and related files may also need to be reviewed before approval.
The sample required depends on what the project still needs to confirm. A project may use some or all of the following.

An existing product supplied in its current form for review. It helps determine whether the blend, ingredient direction or tea format is suitable as the starting point for the project. If accepted, the project can move forward without a separate formula-development stage and proceed to packaging and order planning.

Prepared from a buyer-supplied formula or an agreed development direction. It is used to review ingredient balance, flavour and general drinking characteristics before the formula is finalised. Any required adjustments are completed at this stage so the confirmed formula can move into testing, packaging and commercial planning.

Used to review the selected packaging before final approval. The sample can confirm structure, dimensions, printed appearance and other agreed packaging details. It should follow the current dieline and artwork version so the physical sample matches the packaging configuration that will be used for production.

Completed before production starts to confirm the final formula, packaging structure and artwork version in writing. This approval is separate from earlier sample feedback and records the exact configuration that will be manufactured. Production is released against this approved version rather than an earlier sample or draft file.
The formula, packaging dieline and artwork should each have one clearly approved version before production. If the packaging structure or dimensions change, a new dieline must be issued and the previous version should no longer be used. The same applies to formula and artwork revisions. Written approval should identify the exact version being accepted so production, quality checks and future reorders can all follow the same confirmed files.

Finished-product testing is confirmed and quoted before production based on the requirements of each formula and project.
The testing scope may depend on:
Each formula is treated as a separate production and testing batch. If several formulas are shipped together, their testing and batch documentation are still managed separately.
Any required test parameters should be confirmed before production. Tests that are not included in the agreed scope cannot be added retrospectively to a completed batch.

COA content can also be reviewed against the documentation requirements provided for the project. See Testing & Batch Documentation for available testing scope, reporting and accreditation details.
Choose the starting point that best matches your project.
If an existing Aile Herb blend already fits the project, no separate formula-development stage is required. The project can move directly into product confirmation, packaging, order planning and pre-production approval. For existing tea bag products moving into buyer-brand packaging, see our private label herbal tea bags service.
A custom formula can be developed from the buyer’s ingredient list, target profile or agreed product direction. The formula is reviewed and confirmed first, then the project moves into testing, packaging and production planning.
If you already have a product, formula or reference sample, we can review it as the starting point. The formula, ingredients and product format are assessed first, followed by the packaging, testing and production requirements for the new project.

The review determines which development and approval steps are required before production.
