What Our Pesticide And Heavy Metals Testing Covers

Every batch goes through the same panel before it’s released — nothing ships on a spot-check.

Heavy Metals — by ICP-MS

Lead (Pb) · Cadmium (Cd) · Arsenic (As) · Mercury (Hg), measured down to trace levels.

Pesticide Residues — by GC-MS / LC-MS

Organochlorine, organophosphate and pyrethroid screens.

Safety & Routine Tests

Aflatoxins · Microbial limits · Sulfur dioxide residue · Moisture · Ash · Purity.

Tested Against Your Market’s Limits

“Tested” means nothing if it’s not tested against the limit you actually ship to.

Why Pesticide and Heavy Metals Testing Matters

The two risks come from different places, and you can’t see either one:

Pesticides come from how the crop was grown. A herb that looks perfect can still carry residues from the field — only a GC-MS or LC-MS screen catches them.

Heavy metals come from the soil and water the plant grew in. Lead, cadmium, arsenic and mercury accumulate over the plant’s life, and clean processing doesn’t remove them. Only testing confirms a lot is within limits.

Either one can fail an inbound inspection and sink a shipment. That’s why both block release here — no pass, no ship.

Tested In-House, Not Outsourced

A Report for Every Batch

Every batch ships with a Certificate of Analysis covering its pesticide and heavy-metal results, tied to that specific lot and traceable to its source. Need a sample report before you order? Just ask.

Pesticide and Heavy Metals Testing — FAQ

Q: Are Chinese herbs tested for pesticides and heavy metals before export?

A: At Aile Herb, every batch is screened for pesticide residues by GC-MS and LC-MS and for heavy metals by ICP-MS before release, with the results recorded on the batch’s Certificate of Analysis.

Q: Which heavy metals do you test for?

A: We test for lead, cadmium, arsenic and mercury using ICP-MS, which detects these metals down to trace levels, and we check each batch against the limits for your destination market.

Q: Why does this testing matter for Chinese herbs?

A: Herbs absorb metals from soil and water as they grow, and pesticides can remain from cultivation — neither is visible. Testing every batch is the only way to confirm a lot is within safe limits before it reaches your facility.
